The northern regional chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mohammed BaAntima Samba has alleged that a member of the NPP party and a flagbearer contender, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, member of parliament for assin central is campaigning for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In an interview with Majority radio sighted by Sankara Radio, the regional chairman said the assin central legislature is not campaigning to be flagbearer of the NPP party. “He goes around saying I have this, I have that, my driver takes GHc 5000, but when he met with the delegates in the northern region, he gave them ghc 130 each and even made them starve. So, Kennedy is a lair and he is campaigning for the opposition National Democratic Congress Party.” He added.
Chairman “pre-finance” as he is affectionately called added that “if you want to be a flagbearer then campaign on what you will do when you are given the opportunity, try to convince us so we can buy your ideas but don’t be insulting your opponent and putting delegates and party executive heads together.”
