GIJ Brouhaha: Management makes U-turn, allows students to register

102

The authorities of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) have granted all students who failed to register early for the 2020/2021 academic year to register and sit for the exams.

This decision comes after the management of GIJ earlier directed students who paid their fees after the registration deadline to defer their programme.

The management of the school took the decision at its meeting held on Monday, March 22, 2021 a day into their revision week in preparation for their first semester exams.

Students of the school gathered in front of the Ringway campus of the institution to express their displeasure.

But in a new statement, the management of GIJ has rescinded its decision.

According to a statement from the school, the latest development  was taken based on a petition the school received from the student leaders.

“We therefore wish to remind all students that all other stakeholders that GIJ is granting this amnesty to the students for the last time”, the  statement added.
