Special Prosecutor: Kissi Agyabeng to replace Martin Amidu
Anti-Corruption Campaigner, Mr P.C. Appiah Ofori has expressed belief that the qualification of the young man who has been penciled for the Special Prosecutor position indicates he can do the work.
He said although Mr Kissi Agyebeng may not be known by many, it is about his ability to do the work and not about those who know him or not.
“It is the ability to do the work, it is not about being known. His qualification tells he qualifies to be the Special Prosecutor,” he said.
Mr Kissi Agyebeng, a legal practitioner, and Chairman of the Electronic Communications Tribunal, is expected to be nominated as the next Special Prosecutor (SP).
According to sources, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will soon announce the nomination of Mr Agyebeng as the anti-corruption czar.
When approved by Parliament, Mr Agyebeng will replace Mr Martin Alamisi Burns Kaiser Amidu, who resigned on November 15, 2020.
Speaking on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie, hosted by Ekourba Gyasi Simpremu, Mr P.C. Appiah urged the NPP-Government to provide all the necessary support to the incoming SP so that he can do his work as expected.
He also advised the incoming SP to prosecute all those who have been exposed in the Attorney General’s report for engaging in corrupt activities and send them to prison without fear or favour.
