#FixTheCountry Campaign Trends On Social Media As Ghanaians Petition Government To Sit Up

For more than 24 hours straight, Ghanaians on social media have expressed their displeasure at the way things are going in the country.

Thousands of frustrated youth whose numbers could have caused a huge demonstration in the history of Ghana have taken to the microblogging site, Twitter to air their grievances to the Akufo-Addo-led administration.

#FixTheCountry — a campaign that borders on abandoned projects, poor infrastructure, deplorable basic social amenities, etc has garnered close to 400,000 tweets by Ghanaians.

Ghanaians have described the performance of the current administration as “poor” and are demanding immediate solutions to the problems at hand.

While some raise genuine concerns, others are of the view that the #FixTheCountry campaign is a paid political agenda by the opposition party.

A section of the youth who sit on the fence also advises that those involved in the campaign should channel their energies into doing something different because their effort will, as usual, fall on deaf ears.
